Film producer and author Sue Milliken has been announced as the Australia Day Ambassador for Boorowa.

Better Homes and Gardens TV Presenter, Graham Ross will be on hand in Harden and former Australian Cricketer and former coach of the Pakistan Cricket team, Geoff Lawson will celebrating with the community in Young.

Ms Milliken's credits include most recently the feature film "Ladies in Black", for which she co-wrote the screenplay and was nominated for AACTA awards for best film and best screenplay.

Her other credits as producer include The Odd Angry Shot, The Fringe Dwellers, Black Robe, Sirens, Dating the Enemy, Paradise Road, the TV miniseries My Brother Jack and the indigenous films Crocodile Dreaming and The Redfern Story.

From 1980 to 2009 she represented the completion bond company Film Finances in Australia.

She is a former Chair of the Australian Film Commission and a founding member and past president of Screen Producers Australia (SPA).

She is a recipient of the Australian Film Institute's Raymond Longford (Longford Lyell) Award.

She has also published three books about the industry, a memoir, "Selective Memory", a book of correspondence, "There's a Fax from Bruce" with Bruce Beresford, and "Producing for the Screen" with Andrena Finlay.

Event information for Australia Day celebrations across the Hilltops Region - including Australia Day Award ceremonies - will be listed on Hilltops Council's website and social media pages early in the new year.
