Two heats of both the Club Dubbo Golden Gig and the Gallagher Insurance Broker Little Red Jug are scheduled, the third and first meetings respectively to feature those heats.
The other heat is for the Club Menangle Country Series, and is for horses with a National Rating of no better than 45 that are trained at least 100 kilometres from Tabcorp Park in Menangle.
There are three live Parkes trained chances in that race - Country Grammar, Prettyboytom and Rock Hand, with the former a winner three starts back in Young at big odds.
The mare will want to improve her gate speed from the inside of the front row, and if she does her best mile rate of 1:59.2 is certainly good enough to get the job done.
The meeting kicks off with the first of the Golden Gig heats, and a number of runners are bringing some strong form into the event.
Twisted Mistress, trained by Cowra's Shannon Rye, has been making a mockery of her National Rating of late, pulling out some impressive runs at big odds while Forbes runner Skyz Above has raced in better company earlier this year.
Alectown's Nathan Townsend will be on the reins for the top rated horse in the event, Sheza Rockstar, after the filly completely brained the opposition to win by 24 metres in her solitary career start on November 29.
The second Golden Gig heat is also full of Parkes trained runners, though the pick of the bunch might just be the Malcolm Hutchings trained Caribbean Pat, who has been in the placings her last two starts, and last won on November 5 in Tamworth.
Jogalong Blue (Soho Valencia x Belle of Brooklee), on her home track for John Lew, has shown plenty in her four career starts and trial races, though the gelding is surrounded by some very experienced horses like Harley James and Beautifulvengeance in the second row.
The most competitive races of the night look to be the two Little Red Jug heats, with both heats dominated by Bathurst runners from the Turnbull, Betts and Hurst stables.
The second heat appears to be the more entertaining of the two, with Jack Rocks and Balducci, who both won last week in Parkes at mile rates less than 1:59, while Yep Got Chooks has been racing in much stronger company at Menangle and Bathurst across his 14 start career.
Steve Turnbull and Nathan Hurst look like a strong chance to fill the quinella, with Windy Hill Wally and Im Major Harry both in stellar form of late.
The $9000 Red Jug and Golden Gig finals will be held in Dubbo on December 18 while the Country Series Final, where $20,000 will be up for grabs, will be run at Menangle the following evening.
