This year's service will take place next Sunday, October 25, commencing at 9.30am, and suitable social distancing will be observed in line with official Covid-19 protocols.
The blessing ceremony will be conducted as part of a brief family service and all are welcome to bring their pets, provided they are suitably restrained.
Those who don't have pets are welcome to bring along a favourite stuffed animal.
All participating are invited to enjoy morning tea following the service.
Parishioners of St John's Anglican Church wish to share the benefits and challenges of life in our small rural community with an informal celebration of the importance of our treasured animal friends.
Not only will it be an opportunity to express appreciation of animal companions, but also to seek a divine blessing on the environment and the creatures that exist within its confines.
Everything will be completely free, and all are welcome to bring along their animals for a blessing, on an occasion which will be a chance for the congregation to reach out to their friends and neighbours, workmates and other fellow residents.
