For the first time, the sale will be interfaced with AuctionsPlus and a pre-sale inspection day for all sale rams will be held on Monday, September 28 from 12pm to 5pm.
The stud is committed to breeding rams with an absolute focus on the profit drivers for their commercial clients.
Early maturity, consistency and constitution are the primary breeding objectives and are displayed in the 2020 sale rams.
Springwaters rams are renowned for their high growth rates at an early age, making them ideally suited for sucker production, but maintain market flexibility ensuring producers have options at sale time.
The flock rams have been finished on grass, without grain supplementation, ensuring purchasers can be confident that the muscling and carcase shape in sale rams will be displayed in the progeny.
The 2020 draft features the first progeny of exciting homebred sire "Guinness".
The number of rams sired by "Guinness" in this year's sale will be limited, they are an exciting indication of rams coming forward in future years.
The studs leading sire "Pocock" continues to dominate the draft with a consistent line of 69 heavily muscled rams catalogued.
Early Autumn weaning results show his progeny exhibit fast early growth.
The Pocock sired lambs where 2.5 kgs heavier than the mob average, at an average age of 11 weeks.
The Supreme prime lamb exhibit of the 2017 Sydney Royal Easter Show, "Pocock" has passed on his muscling, structure and carcass attributes to his offspring.
"Pocock" continues to be widely used throughout the Poll Dorset breed for his unmatched phenotype, combined with the commercial qualities stud producers are aiming to pass on to ram clients.
Popular sires over the last few years will once again be represented in the sale, notably SW310-14, who has sired over 140 rams sold through our last three on property auctions, and Abelene Park "Investment", purchased for $24,000 in 2016.
The Rowley family supply rams to producers throughout the state.
"We focus on breeding commercial rams. It's nice to come up with a few elite animals, but for us, it's about putting together a line of rams from lot 1 to lot 200", Co-principle Dane Rowley said.
"We are selling more rams to clients who take a very professional approach to prime lamb production, and they are giving us a lot of feedback that helps us align our breeding program with their bottom line."
Some extra precautions and strategies will be put in place to ensure all COVID-19 guidelines are adhered to on auction day.
In addition, for the first time, the sale will be interfaced live with auctions plus.
"We look forward to showcasing our next group of sale rams and are excited to see the impact they have on prime lamb breeding operations over the coming years. It is a very exciting time for the sheepmeat industry," Dane said.
The rams will be penned from 10:30am on sale day for a 1pm start and private inspection of both stud and flock rams are encouraged.
