Top genetics from one of Australia's largest Poll Dorset flocks will be on offer at the Corcoran family's annual on-property ram sale on Friday, September 18, 2020 in Boorowa.
Celebrating 50 years in 2020, Gooramma has been supplying high performing genetics to prime lamb producers throughout Australia as well as internationally.
Gooramma Stud was founded in 1970 by James Corcoran and has seen the stud expand immensely over the last five decades.
Last year alone, the stud has exported genetics to over 10 countries, with genetics supplied throughout Australia.

"The Gooramma sire evaluation is heavily influenced by performance at 22kg dressed weight, we are extremely focused on high quality, maximum output, trade weight genetics.
"The feedback we are getting from abattoirs is extremely positive. They are seeking out Gooramma-sired lambs as they know the product is extremely consistent and aligns with the specifications they require to sell into the domestic and international markets."
Extensive genetic selection and implementation of on-farm technology has given Gooramma clients the edge with their prime lamb operations. Measurement of key performance traits, combined with genomic data, along with external trial work has really shown the power of the Gooramma Genetics.
"Clients using Gooramma sires have consistently set the benchmark in the district for growth and yield", Mr Corcoran said.
"In years like 2020, the domestic weight lamb has really dominated prime lamb profitability; genetics need to match the output of the Prime Lamb operation.

140 high performance Poll Dorset rams will be offered at the 2020 Gooramma Ram Sale, with inspections from 10am and sale commencing at 1:30pm.
