Significant rainfall within the Hilltops Shire has lead to 59 per cent of its parishes being declared "not in drought" or "recovering from drought" according to the Department of Primary Industries Combined Drought Indicator.

Unfortunately the Boorowa parish is still considered to be one of the few in the region to be "drought affected".
A DPI spokesperson said July had been a significant month for the state.
"The drought event weakened across much of New South Wales (NSW) during July 2020," they said.
"Significant rainfall along the coast, central west and central and southern Tablelands continued drought recovery for much of central and eastern NSW.
"Some districts in the central west of the state are now clearly out of drought.
"And with further rain predicted, the good news from a drought standpoint continues.
"Official climate outlooks indicate an increased likelihood of a wet spring for NSW," the spokesperson said.
