With a growing number of COVID-19 cases in NSW, an alert was issued by Forbes Central West Livestock Exchange (CWLE) on the weekend.

"If you are not selling stock or aren't genuinely buying, please do not attend," organisers said.

"The CWLE is not a social event, if you want to catch up for a yarn please do this outside the yards.

"The last thing we want to do is shut our sales down again."

CWLE said the buyers' walkway is off limits except for professional buyers.

"We need to ensure that buyers continue to support our sale, so give them room," the CWLE urged.

"Without them we won't have a sale."

In line with NSW Health advice to wear a face mask, anyone attending the CWLE for sales is urged to wear a mask from Monday, August 3.

"If you feel unwell, stay at home. Remember to practice good hygiene and stay 1.5 metres away from others," the CWLE said.

"Council staff will be policing social distancing at the sales and anyone who does not follow the NSW Health guidelines will be asked to leave the site."

Attendees are urged to have their attendance form filed out before they arrive at the front gate.

"Filling in the form at the front gate not only slows down entry to the yards, it is also an added health risk," CWLE said.
