Goldies president Justin Fleming said the side was excited to get back on the paddock.
"Starting from July 18 we have seven games," he said.
"Three home games, four away and then the grand final will be held on September 12, a nice short season.
"In a word I'd say we are exited and thrilled to have footy, that we are not going to go a whole year without some rugby."
Fleming said the club was pleased to be able to provide so much needed entertainment to the town.
"Although it's only half a season it's great to get back into it and have some people back on the sideline," he said.
"For the sake of the club and the town to have something on a Saturday afternoon.
"There is some social distancing rules we have to adhere to and manage but it's not insurmountable."
He said there had been a time when the club wasn't sure if they would play at all.
"We thought for awhile there it was probably unlikely we'd get a season in at all," he said.
"Then finally the NSW Government gave us some information, we assessed it and decided we could manage that. As did all the other teams in our comp."
Flemming said the 2020 side was eager to get into the competitive grind.
"From our point of view, we have lots of numbers, everyone is keen," he said.
"We're excited just to get back on the park and get the club up and going again, but we think we are going to be competitive this year.
"We're not sure how the other teams are shaping up, but regardless with the amount of players we have and the quality of players we have, we are going to be competitive.
"We're keen to have a good crack at it and have some success."
He said the side had been preparing well for their first hit out.
"We weren't allowed to do contact training for the first three or four weeks we were training," he said.
"It was only fitness and cardio type stuff but we're allowed to do contact so we are back into full training and getting organised."
He said the club didn't have any plans for events to occur at their home games but welcomed any assistance from the community.
"We'll see how the season unfolds, we aren't planning any big events because of the social distancing," he said.
"But up at the ground it will be largely business as usual, we're just pleased to get people back together.
"We'd welcome any and all players, members, helpers get in touch with us if they want to be involved."
