Defibrillators distributed to community thanks to Boorowa Community Bank

In a potentially lifesaving move, ten defibrillators have been distributed throughout Boorowa and the surrounds, thanks to the Boorowa Community Bank Branch.

The ten machines, which totaled $30,000, were part of the branch's annual community grants program.

Nine of the defibrillators were provided to the following businesses and organisations:

  1. Boorowa Early Education Centre
  2. Boorowa Ex-Services Club
  3. Boorowa IGA
  4. Binalong Swimming Pool
  5. Boorowa Gun Club
  6. Caltex Service Station
  7. Rye Park Red Cross (for Rye Park Community Hall)
  8. Bendigo Community Bank - outdoor Defib
  9. Carinya Court Aged and Disabled Complex

A 10th "roving unit" is available from the Boorowa Community Bank, which can be borrowed for community events.

An education night was held at the Boorowa Ex-Services Club on November 26, led by Sue Buckman from "Defib for Life".

Ms Buckman was recently awarded a Pride of Australia Medal for her work, with her charity distributing 3700 defibrillators across the nation.
