Playing at home for just the second time this year, the Gators won the toss and batted. The openers Brendon Shean and Chris McIntosh found it tough going early as the Bulls bowled a consistent line. After 16 overs the Gators were just 1/26 before a flourish got them to 2/53 at drinks after 20 overs.
Boorowa began to step it up in the second 20 overs and by the end of the innings had reached a respectable 4/160 on the back of Aiden Stannard's 67 and Brendan Shean's 36. Archie Gay also chipped in with a handy 23.
In reply, Bookham were struggling at 3/38 before the fourth wicket stand put on 109 to take the game away from the locals. A late flurry of wickets gave Boorowa a glimmer of hope, but the damage had been done as they passed Boorowa on 6/161 in the 32nd over. The best of the Boorowa Bowlers was Ben Klose with 3/33.
Meanwhile the Crocs also batted first against the Gundaroo Goats. The Boorowa top order just didn't fire collapsing to be just 6/50 in just thirteen overs. However, the Boorowa tail wagged to get the visitors to a competitive total of 154 in 33 overs before they were dismissed.
This was mainly due to a sparkling 55 by Nick Dwyer and 29 not out to Jacob Carmody, who together put on 35 for the last wicket.
In reply, Gundaroo looked in all sorts of trouble at 4/37. However, the middle order rallied, and the Goats cruised to a five-wicket win, posting 5/157.
The Crocs have now suffered similar defeats in the last two weeks, being unable to finish teams off with the ball. The best of the bowlers were Jacob Carmody (2/27) and Chris Dwyer (2/36).
This week the Gators are again at home against the Yass Clubhouse Horns whilst the Crocs head to Yass' Victoria Park to play the Yass Pirates.
There are just a couple of weeks to go before the Xmas break and both sides are desperate to finish the year off with a couple of much needed wins. See you at Bay 13 this Saturday at 12.30 for a great day at the cricket.
