Over the past few years, Boorowa Community Landcare Group (BCLG) has been operating with funds divulged from National Landcare Program through South East Local Land Services.
This year BCLG was included in the State Government Local Landcare Coordinator Initiative securing some baseline funds till 2023.
This will enable BCLG to support a co-ordinator to help them run events and regular community engagement on a vast range of topics from regenerative agriculture, pasture cropping, wildlife, tree planting and biodiversity.
BCLG is also managing several project based grants including a Re-Gen Grazing Group, with farm visits, workshops and bus trips over the next two years.
The group is also a partner in a consortium in the 'Save our Superb Parrot' grant to protect and expand the habitat of Superb Parrots with on-ground activities and bird monitoring events.
2019 is also the 20th year of the 'Building Bridges to Boorowa' Urban Rural partnership and we had Mayors from North Sydney Council and Hilltops Council renew the Memorandum of Understanding at the Celebratory dinner in September.

The event was also attended by Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman and Member for North Shore Felicity Wilson.
All of these special guests have been long-time supporters of Landcare, demonstrated by their enthusiasm with tree planting activities on local properties the following day.
BCLG Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 14 at 6pm at the Boorowa Ex-Services Club.
Guest speaker will be Kate MacMaster: scientist, environmentalist, business owner and mother.
Kate will share her passion for social inclusion, women in leadership and community development.
In 2016, Kate was one of the first cohort of 100 women to be involved with Homeward Bound - a fantastic opportunity for women involved in or working in STEMM - science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine - who deeply care about the planet.
She has been tasked with the rewarding role of 'lead facilitator' on the fifth expedition to Antarctica in 2020 and she can't wait to be back on the icy continent with 80 other women all striving to make the world a more sustainable place to be.
Kate is a Board Member of WaterAid Australia (and Chair of the Policy and Advocacy Committee), the Programs Director at the Peter Cullen Water & Environment Trust, the Founding Director of Studio Wild Consulting and Founding Partner of Trader & Co, a social change collective empowering rural Australians to meet, share, create.
Kate will talk about women in rural Australia, climate change and being intentional with our lives to make a 'hopeful' impact.
Dinner and Kate's presentation is free to all BCLG members or $10 per person.
