Boorowa is set to play its first game of the year on October 19, and while they'll be looking to at the very least be repeat B Grade finalists, there is still plenty of work to be done to ensure a strong season.
The Rovers were unable to get the job done against the Gundaroo Goats in last year's grand final, losing by 41 runs despite bowling the B Grade Premiers all out for 154, but the form they showed in the preliminary final showed the group's skill and character.
Despite posting a miniscule 101, the Boorowa team ultimately rolled the Murrumbateman Blues for 59 runs, with the Carmody brothers, Josh and Jacob, taking seven wickets between them to help defend a modest total and ensure victory.
Regardless, the grand final result shows improvement will be needed to ensure the team takes another step in the A/B Grade Competition and potentially win a trophy.
Part of the club's plan to do this in the 2019-20 season will be to improve the club's depth, fielding a team in both the top tier competition as well as C Grade cricket.

This also has the added benefit of assuring of players of all levels can play, with serious cricketers encouraged to challenge themselves in first grade, while those in the caper to socialise and mingle will be able to find a home in C Grade.
Junior cricketers looking for a challenge will also be able to take advantage of C Grade and test themselves against older cricketers as a way of developing their game further.
Anyone interested in playing for this year's team should contact Josh Carmody, Phil Coggins, Chris MacIntosh or any other member of the current team. Alternatively, they can leave a name and contact at the Courthouse Hotel.
