Round 25 of the local darts saw some of the hottest arrows thrown of the season. All three grades are tight, and teams are desperate to give themselves every chance of taking the title in their respective competitions.

Among the highlights of the week was the C grade Ex-Services RSL side who had not won a game all year until last Thursday. They have finally opened their eyes on the scoreboard with a convincing 5/2 win over the top of grade, the Top Pub Jameson's.
The result was the biggest upset of the season, with Darrell Armour shooting a 117 and Adrian March with a 111 for the RSL. For the Jameson's, Anna Bufford Sharpe was impressive with a 125 and a neat 58 peg out.
The other C Grade match saw the Ex Services 26's host the Shamrocks, with the Shamrocks winning 4/3, decided on the second last singles game. The Shamrocks' husband and wife duo of Grant and Deb Cotter scored 110 and 100 respectively in the win.
For the 26's Chris Dwyer showed good form for his team with a 132 and a 100 plus a sly 50 peg-out by the way of green bull (25), 17, double 4 finish.
In the A Grade the RAMZ side hosted the Silver Foxes with the result coming down to the last singles game with Tom Thuaux beating Phil Coggins for a 4/3 result. Again, Josh Carmody was on fire with seven hundred scores for the night. Tom Thuaux was also impressive with four hundreds, including a 116.
The Silver Foxes again blew a handy lead after winning the 801 teams' event in just 21 darts. Dennis Watson, however, was sensational with a 180, a 140 and a neat 65 peg out in the same game.
The Top Pub Leprechauns hosted The Mad Ramz with the hosts winning 5/2. David Apps had three hundred scores being a 140,132 and a 125, while the ever-improving Rebecca Dwyer had two tonne and a tidy 62 season high peg out. The Mad Ones' Shane Friend shot a 111 and super sub Keith "Machine Gun" McClung again was ever helpful with a 125.
In the other B grade game, The Shenanigans hosted the rec Miz Fits with the Miz Fits prevailing 5/2. Andrew Hardefeldt had two hundreds whilst Judith Baker had a nice 138 season high. Meanwhile, the Shenanigans' Dee McClung had a 108.
We now have a two-week recess for the school holidays and resume on October 17.
