The students reported on their learning experiences and highlights from Term 2, as well as events planned for Term 3.
Special congratulations go to our award recipients, Tyler and Jeorjie, who were recognised for their positive attitude and commitment to their learning.
Our Year 6 students, Jacob, Mieke and Meghann, were presented with their Year 6 t-shirts.
This was a big moment, as the students were involved in designing the t-shirts, and they now can wear them with pride as they work towards the milestone of completing primary school over the next six months.
Rye Park students participated with competitiveness and enthusiasm at the Cowra Small School Athletics Carnival, with most students taking part in every event they could - what fantastic energy levels and sportsmanship.
Many students came away from the day with new PBs, and Mieke, Tyler, Jacob and Ella were selected to represent the Small Schools at the Cowra District Carnival coming up on August 23.
Go team Rye Park.
Jacob, Tyler and Mieke have developed their artistic talents during the Binit Binit Art and About Workshops.
Students joined together with other schools from the Binit Binit Learning Community, and worked with local artists to produce artworks in two different mediums.
These artworks will be showcased at an Art Exhibition in Yass during Education Week (August 5-9), and our students are excited to have their works displayed for the public.
Rye Park and Dalton schools are continuing to combine each Thursday for our 'Dalton Park' learning days.
These are a highlight of the week for both students and staff, where students rotate between lessons, sharing learning and socialising with a larger peer group.
These valuable lessons are a great way for students to build friendships and support networks and for staff to work collaboratively as well.
During Term 3, Dalton Park will be performing a dance, 'Singing in the Rain', and singing 'Try Everything' at the Binit Binit Education Week Concert in Yass on Friday, August 9.
They will also be joining forces to compete in the Small School Touch Knockout Competition, with their sights set on the finals in Sydney in Week 10.
Students and staff and all looking forward to Week 9 when they will be heading north to Dubbo for a three day excursion, taking in many attractions of the region including Taronga Western Plains Zoo, the Old Dubbo Gaol, Aboriginal Cultural activities, and the Wellington Caves.
The school's P&C have helped make this possible, for which the school is very grateful.
The school is raising money by selling delicious local 'Queen of Hearts' honey.
For each jar sold, the school receives $5.
Available at the school or Gary's Gourmet Meats in Young.
