After the multiple matches and scenarios, the final was played and Andrew Hardefeldt (Rec Miz Fitz) reigned supreme for the year by beating Darrell Armour (Ex Services RSL) in the final by 2/1.
Well done Andrew, who has been a massive improver in the competition and will certainly test plenty of players in the future.
In the Ladies Singles, they played an extended format of the best of five competition as did the Men's Majors.
In a very tight tussle, reigning Champion Lyn Chapman (Rec Blue) held her crown by beating yet another big improver in the competition. Alex (Foxy) Fox (Top Pub Shamrocks) in the last game winning 3/2.
These ladies were also seeded number 1 and 2 in the draw and a high standard of darts were thrown all night. Well done Lyn in going back to back and no doubt she will look for a three-peat next year.
In the Men's Majors a high quality filed assemble with most games going down to the final leg leading to a late night.
There were some great scores and quick peg outs sorted the contenders from the pretenders over the course of the evening.
The final was played between the No 2 seed Josh Carmody (RAMZ) who played the No 3 seed Alex Lynch (Rec Blue).
Josh was out of the box like a number one dog at Dapto, but Alex showed poise and tenacity to draw up on the rails with the legs at 2/2. So, in the end it was decided in the last leg with the first man to get his double being Josh who won 3/2.
Congratulations to Josh Carmody for his win and to all other participants in the Championships on the night. As scheduled, there is no darts tonight, so take the opportunity to either recover from dartitis or practice your darts.
The competition resumes on Thursday, July 25 as per your draw sheets. See you around the Oche.
