Five entrants in competition
Congratulations to the five entrants in this year's Cherry Festival Queen and King competition.
They are David Munnerley (Hilltops Suicide Prevention), Brianah Griffin (Lions Club of Young), Kate Cruickshank (Men's Shed), Tasman Coulter (Margaret House) and Laura Ower (CanAssist, Young and Boorowa).
There is still opportunity for other candidates to join in, though fundraising has already officially started.
Please support all entrants in their endeavours.

In the month of July why not take the opportunity to explore the natural and built attractions of the region?
Take time out to look about your own town and district, or travel to one of the other nearby Hilltops centres to immerse yourself in neighbouring charm and heritage.

Tickets on sale
Tickets are now available for the Cherry Blossom Long Table Lunch to be held on Sunday, September 22.
The event in a flowering cherry orchard has a mystery location and an idyllic element, Hilltops food and wine, music and other entertainment.
Long table lunches are all the rage these days.
Bring some friends from out of town and book your tickets now on Eventbrite, or at the Young Visitor Information Centre.
Bush poets fundraiser
The Wombat Bush Poets are looking for community support for their fundraising movie screening of "Tolkien".
They aim to raise funds to bring experienced bush poets to Hilltops region schools.
The film is being screened at Southern Cross Cinema on Thursday, July 11 from 7pm.
Make it a date

That's the suggestion of the Young Hospital Auxiliary who are mounting another annual Soup Day on Friday, July 19.

Soups - piping hot and homemade - bread, slice, tea and coffee are promised for a small fee of $12.
All proceeds will be used to provide equipment at the hospital.
Ongoing - "Ngarra" Indigenous Art Exhibition at Burrangong Gallery, Young Visitor Information Centre, open seven days. Free and all welcome
July 11 - Fundraising movie "Tolkien" to aid local Bush Poets schools project, 6.30pm for 7pm screening.
July 12 - Take 5 on Friday with Young Regional School of Music scholarship student Sarah Miller. Sarah is a promising pianist. From 12.30pm to 1pm. Everyone welcome.
July 13 - Uniting Church Markets, Uniting Church hall and grounds, Crn Lynch and Cloete Streets, 8am to 1pm.
July 19 - Young Hospital Auxiliary annual fundraising Soup Day, Young Town Hall from 11am to 2.30pm. Tasty soups and slice for all. Proceeds used to buy equipment for the hospital.
July 19 - Opening of new Visitor Information Centre at Harden Murrumburrah, at 11pm. Albury Street next to the museum.
July 20 - Young & Region Farmers Market, Anderson Park, 9am to 12noon.
July 21 - Handmade in Harden Murrumburrah Community Markets, Murrumburrah Court House, 9am to 2pm.
July 27 - Boorowa Makers and Growers Community Market, Old Court House Grounds, 9am to 2pm.
