The Boorowa Rovers have entrenched themselves firmly in the top five of the George Tooke Shield with a clinical 46-12 win over the Boomanulla Raiders in Canberra last Saturday.

It's always a tricky match against Boomanulla away from home and the Rovers were extremely happy with a performance that keeps them in touch with the top three.
Following last week's round, the fourth placed Rovers have opened a six-point break on the competition ladder over equal fifth placed Binalong and Crookwell.
Other George Tooke Shield results last weekend saw Bungendore 46 beat Gunning 0 whilst in a minor upset, Binalong 26 beat Crookwell 14 in a result that has certainly helped the Rovers and thrown the race for fifth spot wide open.
Currently the ladder sees:
- Bungendore 22
- Harden 20
- North Canberra 20
- Boorowa 18
- Crookwell 12
- Binalong 12
Meanwhile, Boomanulla, UCGrizzlies and Gunning can virtually start thinking about next year.
The Rovers will play the UC Grizzlies at the University of Canberra on Saturday at 2pm in a match they should win, however they cannot afford a slip up with some big games ahead.
In other matches this weekend, Binalong host Boomanulla, Harden are at home against Gunning whilst Crookwell take on Bungendore at Crookwell. North Canberra have the bye.
The Roverettes are refreshed after a bye last week and will play a crucial game against UC Grizzlies at 12.45 before the Rovers play at 2pm. Boorowa currently hold fifth spot on the ladder, just one point in front of the Grizzlies so this game may well prove vital come finals time.
Despite a 22-6 loss to Gungahlin Reds last weekend, the Harden/Boorowa u16's continue to hold down a top five spot.
The lads now have a minor break for the school holidays.
Both Boorowa senior teams will return home on Saturday 20 July when they will host the Bungendore Tigers.
