UNDER 16s
The Under 16s combined team proved far too good for the Queanbeyan Blues on Friday night at Seiffert Oval, delivering a comprehensive 32-4 shellacking of the Blues on their home deck.
The visitors delivered a strong performance across the board, with Joie Whybrow scoring two tries in the performance, while Jacob Piper, Jake Christie, James Collins and Joshua Demont all added singles to ensure an easy win.
The victory ensures that the team sits in fifth, with finals definitely still in the frame for the team if they carry this form forward in Friday night's free home game against the North Canberra Bears and beyond.
WOMEN'S LEAGUE TAG
Heading over to the Gunning Showgrounds, the Roverettes made partial rebound from the previous week's loss, playing out a tightly contested draw against Rooettes, 18-18.
Kiara Shean scored two tries for the visitors, with Genevieve Carmody and Mikella Pye both adding extras, though the side will be hoping to convert more goal opportunities when they return after the bye.
The draw leaves the team in sixth place, on level pegging with the UC Grizzlies - they are behind only on for and against.
They will return after a two week break to take on the Grizzlies away.
MEN'S LEAGUE
The men's team put a win on the board after last week's derby loss with a 26-6 scoreline against the Gunning Roos.
Tries were shared around the team, with five individual scorers on the day, while Jayden Cutting and Andrew Burns added three conversions to ensure that the game remained firmly in the Rovers control.
The comprehensive 20-point scoreline means that the Rovers are now two games clear in fourth on the George Tooke Shield ladder, having plenty to work with when they return against the Boomanulla Raiders on Saturday, July 6.
