Nine children celebrate first Holy Communion at St Patrick's

St. Patrick's Church was abuzz with excitement on Saturday evening (22nd June) as the congregation gathered together to celebrate the 6pm Mass with the nine candidates who were to receive their First Holy Communion.

Archie Coble, Jordan Grimson, Ella Saunders, William Kelly, Cooper Downey, Alice Dymock, Peter Bowman, Preston Harris, and Toby Wales have spent the last month, with their families, preparing for this very special occasion.

Attending Mass, working through booklets and attending three reflection nights as well as a Retreat Day saw all the children ready to take this significant step in their spiritual journey.

It all started with them going to their First Reconciliation on Wednesday evening.

Fr. Tom Thornton presided over the liturgy and it was a very special and moving night for all.

Fr. Dominic Carrigan celebrated the Saturday evening Mass where the children received the blessed Sacrament for the first time.

It was a joyous occasion for all. Congratulations to all the nine candidates.

The Parish would like to thank Mrs Gayle Grimson and Mr Paul Corcoran for all their hard work, organisation of and assistance with helping the children prepare for this special time.
