On the back of a narrow win against old foes Binalong two weeks ago, the Boorowa Rovers luck ran out last week when they were defeated 12-10 on the full-time siren against the North Canberra Bears.

Missing some of its stars, it was a tremendous effort by the plucky Rovers who are really showing they have the goods to be a threat this year having beaten Premiers Crookwell and now narrowly losing to the other grand finalist from last year.
Best on the weekend was Co-Coach Alex Stewart who got three points whilst his partner in crime Andrew Burns got two points. Chris Mason had another solid game to pick up one point. Andrew Burns was the Player's Player.
In the league tag, Boorowa also fell narrowly short of a win going down 10-4 against the Bears. Again, it was a great defensive effort by the girls who continue to improve their combinations each week.
Unfortunately, the Harden/Boorowa Under 19s suffered the same fate as the senior teams when they went down to the Bears by 28-14. This team is low on troops and any under 19 looking for a game is most welcome. In the meantime, the team is bravely soldering on.
The shining light for the weekend was the mighty Harden/Boorowa U16s who continue to defy the odds. This time they put the Crookwell Green Devils to the sword by 44-6 in a very impressive second half display.
This weekend all teams will have a general bye for the long weekend. Then it's heading towards the business end of the year when those teams towards the top of the ladder fine tune their games and many think about end of season trips.
The local senior teams will play their next game against Harden on Saturday, June 15, at the Boorowa Showground.
Have a great long weekend and we will see you on Saturday week.
