Frogmore heavy horse breeders draw success at Royal

Local heavy horse breeders, the Oxenham family of "Benwerrin Park" Frogmore have had recent significant successes with their beautifully presented horses at the 2019 Sydney Royal Show.

Benwerrin Park Lady Audra took out the Perpetual Annaburne Gold Cup at the Royal for a Mare/Filly Two Years and Over bred in the Commonwealth of Australia.

This is a very prestigious award coveted by heavy horse enthusiasts. Benwerrin Park Lady Audra also won the brood mare class.

The Oxenhams took a total of four horses to Sydney and competed with success in single and pairs harness as well as breed age classes.

Phil and Heather, together with their three daughters, have been breeding heavy horses for just on 40 years and moved from Camden to Frogmore 17 years ago.

At this local stud, two Stallions and approximately 10 mares represent the carefully chosen genetics from these years of breeding.

The family regularly support local shows, and make trips with their horse drawn vehicles and horses to larger regional shows and the Royals.
