Boorowa's skateboarders will have a better opportunity to practice their ollies, kickflips and grinds with Hilltops Council receiving funding to develop a new skatepark in Boorowa.

The funds were secured by Council through the second round of the New South Wales State Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund and work is underway to develop a concept design in consultation with the community.
Hilltops Mayor Brian Ingram said Skatepark designers Enlocus, who worked with the former Harden Shire Council to deliver the award-winning Harden Skatepark, had been successful in securing the contract to develop the concept design for the new skatepark.
"A new skatepark for Boorowa will complement the fantastic new playground that was opened last year," he said.
"We know spaces like this help to keep our youth active and engaged and this new skatepark will be a wonderful addition to the great skating facilities already available in the Hilltops."
It is proposed that the location of the new skatepark will be closer to Pudman Street adjacent to the recycling bins.
Council is also seeking advice from the designers on the viability of the half-pipe being repurposed in the new location.
Enlocus and Council staff will be running workshops at both St Joseph's Primary School and Boorowa Central School on Tuesday, June 4.
Those interested community members are also invited to drop down and chat with the designers and Council staff next Tuesday from 4pm - 5pm.
