Last Saturday, the Goldies travelled away to take on the Temora Tuskers. With a near full strength team they travelled with confidence after a good game, albeit a loss, the week before against Harden.

The boys got off to a very slow start, not managing too many phases and making heavy work of whatever the hell they were trying to do. It was a very frustrating game where the players couldn't get a flow to their play.
We went into the break 7-17 down after the backs worked together to combine for Brad Rose to finish a try after Temora played simple, effective rugby to get ahead on the scoreboard early.
The Goldies subsequently went out onto the park with the wind in their face in the second half. However, they backed their structure and ground out two team tries - both finished off by Phil Maine - to steal the win at 19-17.
Captain Tim Gregory led from the front and was backed up by a strong forward pack. The backs were steered around well with some good minutes by Gerard Ryan before his weak stomach put an end to his field time. He reckons it was a dodgy prawn the night before and had nothing to do with the 83.5 schooners he had with Jack and Danny, also the night before.
Also on the 25th of May, the same day as our 50 year celebrations, we are having a Boorowa Goldies' Old Boys game against the Bowral Blacks. If you have ever played, watched or supported the Goldies bring along your boots for a 1.30pm kick off. We will have a very intensive training session the Thursday before, starting at 6.30pm down at the showgrounds, it will be followed by beers and a feed at the top pub.
