Ed Corcoran led the forwards. Doug Patterson led a strong back line for the fresh new BRU team and impressive form from Carl Williams, P. Colvin, Charlie Merriman and Mick Dowd.
Peter Sheridan was presented with the Best and Fairest trophy.
1971
The strength of the BRU team was evident, this year having many convincing wins. Two teams ran onto the field for the first time.
By July, BRU showed to be worthy competitors in the South West Competitions due to tight forward combinations, strong tackles and faultless displays in the loose plays and rucks.
Mid season new players were Bernard O'Connor, Chris Quilkey, Pat O'Sullivan, Peter Gorham and Gary Dwyer.
BRU wound up their part in the 1971 South West competition when narrowly defeated by West Wylong 9 points to 8.
Presentation Night - First Grade:
Best and Fairest - Mike Dowd, Best Back - Mike Corcoran, Best Forward - Peter Sheridan, Most Improved - Dave Clark and Best Clubman - Pat Carmody.
Second Grade:
Best and Fairest - Bernard O'Connor, Best Back - Trevor Platt, Best Forward - Gary Dwyer and Most Improved - Kevin Randall.
1972
This year saw a first win over Young. Outstanding players on the day were Mick Dowd, Geoff Mason, Mal Gay, Gary Dwyer and Mick Corcoran.
A fourth win for Boorowa this season. New players were Gary Edwards, Graeme Gay, Geoff Honey, Angus Coles and Nick Elliot.
1973
Eight players were selected for the South West trial games, Pat Carmody and Mike Corcoran were selected for the First XVI.
Charlie Merriman, Eddie and Mal Gay selected for the Second XVI.
Don Clements and Peter Sheridan selected for the reserves for the seconds. President Eddie Corcoran paid tribute to Coach Pat Carmody at the successful Presentation Dinner.

1974
John Snelling begins the year as new coach. New players arrived - John Cottee, Doug Stewart, Charlie Kidd, Bill Abby, Brian Hanrahan, Tom Corcoran, James Keady, Ross Bill, Tim Deane, John McGrath, Dave Marsh, John Stuart and Dave Gregory.
Boorowa defeated Forbes: first grade 21-7, second grade 48-4. BRU was the competition leader after a win over Cowra.

1975
This year saw several wins for the BRU side, defeating Forbes 42-6, and West Wylong 12-3, victory over Parkes in June, further wins over Young 22-9 and Cowra 16-6. BRU made the semi finals.

1976
Boorowa Rugby starts the season with its first international tour, taking a squad of 28 players and supporters to New Zealand. John Snelling continued from the previous season as coach and Eddie Corcoran the club President.
Boorowa made it to the finals only to be knocked out by Grenfell. The seconds missed out on the semis by 1 1/2 points.
A highlight of the year was the tackling sensation Chris Moss, first seen at Binalong against West Wyalong.
1977
Another strong year as Boorowa start the season with a win over West Wyalong, but the second meeting saw Boorowa receive a lesson in rugby, being soundly beaten by the men from the west.
First grade has a 6-6 draw with Cootamundra in the final game to knock both teams out of semi contention.
1978
Mal Gay is selected for Country representative duties.
Boorowa kept two teams on the field, Bill Abbey takes on coaching first grade.
The forward pack is given a boost with Rob Fuller and Jim Abbey joining the squad. Defeated by Young in the finals.
1979
John Snelling returns as coach and an influx of young players makes for an exciting year ahead. John McGrath, Boorowa's first referee, takes to the field.
