The 1700m Picnic Cup will headline proceedings, with several horses coming into the meet with strong form ahead of the event, which carries $8000 of prize money.
Doug Gorrel's Southern Gamble won the Doug Allen Grenfell Picnic Cup only last month, while Griffith-based trainer Russell Hogan's Cooee March has placed second in each of its last three meets, suggesting there will be tight competition as trainers look for a win.
Other races that will take place on the day include the 1200m Picnic Sprint as well as two separate Maiden Plates to be raced over 1000m and 1200m respectively.
The meet, which features six races, promises to be a fun and social day for all involved, with most trainers bringing along multiple horses so they can compete in several events, while buses will ferry attendees from local pubs and hotels in the town.
Administered by the Boorowa Picnic Race Club, the meet has attracted 40 sponsors from around the community.
Gates open at 11am, with racing to begin at 1pm. There will also be a Fashions on the Field competition, at a yet to be determined time.
Three injuries at Tomingley on Saturday
Three jockeys who were likely to have rides at Saturday's Boorowa Picnic race meeting have been seriously injured after a fall at Tomingley on Saturday.
Racing NSW on Monday morning reported that jockey Michael Hackett was in a stable condition in an induced coma at Liverpool Hospital, with family by his side.
Rickey Blewitt has in-displaced thoracic spine fractures requiring rest for six weeks to heal. He also has a scapula fracture that will be treated with a sling and a rib fracture that requires rest and conservative management. He remains in Westmead Hospital.
Michael Gray was transported to Dubbo Hospital. He was having an MRI on his cervical spine on Monday.
He has a fractured clavicle that requires surgery, and he also has a wrist fracture that will be treated in a splint and a thoracic spine fracture that just requires rest.
Hackett was riding the Rodney Robb-trained Another Plan in the race at Tomingley, while Blewitt was aboard George Wright Junior's Run The Red and Gray was riding Sikum for Sharon Jeffries.
