Boorowa ready for annual picnic races: Talking Tourism

In the Hilltops region horse racing spans back to early pioneering days and in May, one event at Boorowa continues on with is the fine tradition.

In Boorowa the Picnic Races popular for its authentic picnic ambiance, is set for a 66th meeting on Saturday, May 4.

New Winter Hilltops Festival

Young Regional School of Music will hold the inaugural Soyawanna Song Festival in the Hilltops region through the winter school holidays in early July.

The festival will be held over the weekend of July 5, 6 and 7.

This celebration of voices will feature guest conductors and presenters and local artists sharing their expert knowledge during a range of workshops and masterclasses.

Focus on Harden-Murrumuburrah

A display of entries in the Harden-Murrumburrah Camera Club Photographic competition goes on show over the weekend of May 25-26 at the Courthouse in Murrumburrah. Entries close on May 11. Contact is Alan Salmon on 0427 868 508.

April 27 - Bribbaree Show 'n' Shine, awards for cars, trucks, bikes and ute categories. Judging 10am to 1pm.

April 28 - Bush Poetry at Young Hotel in Lynch Street, all welcome to perform in open mike, 1.30pm to 4.30pm, new performers and juniors welcome.

May 1 - National Cherry Festival Committee Meeting, Young Visitor Information Centre, 6pm, all welcome.
