50 years of tremendous efforts both on and off the paddock for a club whose reputation for hearty culture stretches far and wide.
Over the past few weeks we have compiled a list of updated addresses for some 500 players who have contributed to the clubs history... Players from 1969 to 2019 will receive invitations to our Anniversary Gathering on May 25 at the Boorowa Showgrounds.
In addition, we are extending invitations to sponsors, supporters, coaches, referees, competition administration, and opposition, from over those years who would like to join us!
Also this year the Goldies have moved competitions, back into the Central West Zone (resembling the Old South West) and will take on Harden, Cootamundra, Young, West Wyalong, Temora, Grenfell and Condobolin.
The club and its members are excited to take on old rivals and rekindle old friendships. The season starts this Saturday at Boorowa against Condo.
I must say the thought of the 2019 season make us all very happy.
Player numbers seem to be shaping up well, our coaching team and our committee are back on deck, we have a first club house and sporting facility, we have new (old) territory to cover and teams to play, and of course we are set to celebrate 50 years of good people, good rugby and good times.
Thank you all for your contributions over the last 50 years and thank you to those who are lining up to contribute in this big year.
As a wise man once said - "The only problem with Rugby is that of the persistence of summer". Summer's over, bring on the rugby AND the beer.
