Archie, who attends Young North Public School, was recently selected in a 24-player Riverina squad to train twice in Wagga and Albury this winter.
Young North Public School teacher Scott Druett said it's the first time at least eight years that the school has had a student progress beyond the first round of selections.
"It's a great effort," Mr Druett said.
Archie, who played locally in Young's under-12s representative side in 2018/2019, negotiated a number of selection hurdles to qualify for the squad of 24.
The first round was at Junee on February 6 before more than 50 boys converged on Deniliquin for round two on February 25.
The Year six student is a right-handed opening batsman, who enjoys batting spending long periods of time in the middle.
"It's a good spot because it gives you the chance to bat the longest," Archie said of opening the batting.
"You don't have to wait for someone to get out, you can just go straight out there."
He also bowls some leg-spin, something he thinks may help get him selected in final squad.
Students are trialing for the squad from as far as Echuca as well as Wagga, Cootamundra and all across South-West NSW.
The squad will be narrowed down following a session at Wagga in September.
The final Riverina team will play in the NSW PSSA Cricket Championships from November 11 to 15 in Wollongong. This will be up against the best young cricketers from both public and private schools from across all NSW.
Two other students from Young North Public School also trialed at Deniliquin however missed out on selection for the final 24-player squad.
The Young under-12s representative side was recently eliminated by Parkes in the under-12s Western Zone semi-final.
Archie finished the regular season on a high the week earlier scoring a century at West Wyalong.
