Appearing will be the popular Australian Rugby Choir and the Gospel Folk Choir from Canberra, Hilltops Choir from Young and Maisie’s Choir from Yass, along with the local M&D Society Choir.
The Songs of Hope concert was first staged in 2015 as part of the Boorowa Remembers project and has continued in subsequent years as a fund raiser for Can Assist.
This has resulted in significant funds being raised locally for the splendid, charitable work of the Young-Boorowa Branch of Can Assist.
The organisers are particularly grateful to district choirs for making themselves available for this big afternoon of song and for their cooperation and enthusiasm for the Songs of Hope project.
They are also particularly appreciative to the St Patrick’s Parish Council for permission to use their church for this annual concert.
The Songs of Hope concert will begin at 2pm on April 14 and entry will be by donation to Can Assist.
In conjunction with the concert, a fundraising raffle for Can Assist will be conducted in Young and Boorowa in coming weeks.
Total value of the prize will be $540 and it will include $440 for accommodation at the famous Carrington Hotel at Katoomba and a fuel card valued at $100.
It is expected that tickets will be on sale in Boorowa on March 21 and April 4.
More information will be provided in future editions of the Boorowa News.
