Australia Day
Australia Day is just a week away and interest is building in this important national event. This year Hilltops welcomes three ambassadors to take part in Australia Day celebrations. These are Paralympian and gold medallist Ms Lindy Hou (Young), Olympian, adventurer and entrepreneur Mr Ed Fernon (Harden) and co-founder of Endometriosis Australia Ms Donna Cicca (Boorowa).
Boorowa
Australia Day celebrations in Boorowa will be held at Boorowa Recreation Park from 8am. A packed schedule has been arranged for the whole family, including breakfast, the official ceremony, award presentations and entertainment.
Harden
At Harden Murrumburrah Australia Day celebrations centre on Newson Park from 8am with breakfast, entertainment and the official ceremony.
Young
Australia Day celebrations in Young will take place at Carrington Park from 8am to 11am. There will be a breakfast barbecue, entertainment and the official Australia Day Ceremony. Come along and join in the fun.
Wombat
The Wombat village always has a dynamic celebration including a midday parade, tractor pull and presentations. There is also an art exhibition at Wombat Hall from 10am to 2pm with Devonshire teas served.
Markets
The Young and Region Farmers Market will be held for a second time this month on Saturday, January 19 from 9am until noon.
Boorowa’s Home Makers and Growers Community Market will resume on Saturday February 23.
Hollywood Glamour
A Hollywood Glamour Charity Dinner featuring guest speaker Cameron Daddo will be held in Young on March 15.
This is Young Crisis Accommodation Centre’s event of the year and patrons are asked to come dressed in glamorous attire to help the homeless.
Cameron Daddo starred in the movie Filthy Rich and Homeless.
Cocktail Party
Come and enjoy a special event at Clifton House and Gardens in support of the Mercy Care Centre palliative care unit.
This event on March 9 is a major fundraiser and will help effect major changes to the unit and its presentation into the future.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Clifton House and Gardens, the night is sure to be an enjoyable one for a worthy cause.
Art Exhibition
The Young Society of Artists has a new exhibition at the Burrangong Gallery in the Young Visitor Information Centre. The exhibition is open daily. Please call in to enjoy works by a number of society members.
