Swimming club registration is not a requirement for the events, so competitors are encouraged to bring friends and family along for a swim.
Swimming club registration is not requirement for the events, so competitors are encouraged to bring friends and family – young and old – along for a swim.
The Shine Shield was created after Binalong grazier Buster Shine donated the prize in 1966, instigating a series of swimming events designed to showcase swimming in the South West of New South Wales.
It’s been a busy Summer season for Boorowa Swimming Club, with the a South West meet held in December, and with preparations under way for regional competition in Wagga Wagga.
Organisers of the event have put a call out to get help for the day, with jobs available including timekeeping and helping to run the barbecue, and helpers only expected to give up an hour or two of time.
Volunteers are encouraged to contact one of the following organisers:
- Maureen Beere, Gary Harton (0427 600 029)
- Sarah Rose (Sarah.rose2@bigpond.com).
