We can’t accurately predict the future but there are three things we can predict with a degree of confidence.
Labor will win the Federal Election expected in May.
Labor also has a big chance of taking power in NSW in March.
The third likely occurrence, Trump will be gone as President of the United States before years end.
The surprises that will occur the year can change everyone’s thoughts and affect even the best-planned resolutions.
I hope 2019 treats you kindly.

Boorowa really got into the Christmas spirit this season. Jo and myself came in to see what Arnold Spackman had done to the Uniting Church. An impressive light show and music. Well done Arnold.
We did a tour of the town noting that at least 50% of the homes had some Christmas decoration … some elaborate, some small, but the spirit was infectious. Be nice to see this number grow next Christmas.

A chap I associate with is confident 2019 will bring a tourism boom to Boorowa. He envisages that by years end we will be selling meat pies and sauce in the main street for $10 a pop.
A very optimistic prediction, but then again, he did make the same prediction 10 years ago.
Seriously, the vibe around town is all positive.

It’s been at least 15 years since the Ex-Services Club had some kind of function or event on New Year’s Eve. Things have hopefully changed.
The Club booked ‘Johnny and the Easyriders’ to perform this past New Year. A crowd of some one hundred people turned out and had a terrific night.
Almost every song this fabulous band played the crowd knew and had actually grown up with. The five members of the band are brilliant musicians with an obvious love of what they do.
Hopefully we will see them back in Boorowa, but here or anywhere, if you see that ‘Johnny and the Easyriders’ are performing –go – you’ll love them.

Paddy has a great idea for the New Year saying to Mick, “I’m getting circumcised next week.”
Mick says, “I had that done when I was a few days old.”
“Does it hurt?” asks Paddy.
Mick says. ‘I can’t remember, but I know I couldn’t walk for nearly a year.”

This Australia Day, Boorowa will welcome Donna Ciccia (pronounced Chi Cha) as our Ambassador.
Donna was named in the 2018 Australian Financial Review’s 100 women of influence. Donna was co-founder and is a current board director of Endometriosis Australia and is a member of the Federal Steering Committee for the implementation of the National Action Plan for Endometriosis.
She is also a Board Director of Australian Traditional Medicine Society.
Anyone with an interest in health issues, especially related to Endometriosis, they are invited to attend the Australia Day Eve Dinner with our committee and the Ambassador, this year at the Boorowa Hotel, Friday, January 25, 6.30pm for 7.00pm.
Having spoken to Donna, she assures me she is keen to meet and talk to our medical professionals.
