The playground features accessible equipment for children with disabilities.
Hilltops Mayor, Councillor Brian Ingram said the project came together through two different grant funds.
“It’s a great facility, it’s going to be a great asset to Boorowa and indeed our whole district, one that Hilltops Council is very proud of,” he said.
Ms Goward said the playground will be a drawcard for families.
“It was half a million dollars in state government funding but the spin off consequences for Boorowa and the region will be much greater than that,” she said.
Other funding announcements were made on the day, including more than $300,000 to refurbish the skate park, $112,508 for water and irrigation at the Rec Park, $79,754 for the Boorowa Historical Society and Museum and $352,677 for upgrades at the Showground Horse Arena.
