The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, October 5 and have hit the road, seeing the same sights, only fifty years later. The couple have travelled through southern NSW and into country Victoria on to South Australia.
Bruce and Chris were married at St John’s Anglican Church before hosting more than 100 guests at a reception at Boorowa Ex-Services Club.
Chris, a former Boorowa girl, was attended by her cousin Colleen Myers of Boorowa and friends Jan Edwards (Canberra) and Marie Goldspring (Ryde East).
Bruce’s best man was Mr Kenneth Spilsted of Yass, cousin of the bridegroom.
Groomsmen were Ross Coble and Kenneth Myers (Boorowa), brother and cousin respectively of the bride.
After their honeymoon, the couple settled in Canberra. They now reside in Yass and have three children and six grandchildren.
