This is the only regular annual art exhibition in the district and if it is to continue there is a need for more support from people who value the cultural significance of the event.
The Art Show is a fund-raiser for the Anglican Church and enjoys a broad participation from local artists and from others representing a wide area of the state.
The historic St John’s Church is in need of major renovations, particularly to the valuable stained-glass windows, and the parish is ‘gearing-up’ for the financial demands that this project will represent.
At last week’s St John’s Parish Council meeting members expressed their congratulations and appreciation to Tina Merriman and her team for the very successful recent show, which was part of the annual Woolfest weekend.
It was acknowledged that organising and conducting the Show was extremely demanding, and the meeting was told that more assistance is needed to ensure the continuation of the annual event into the future.

It is hoped that more local people, and those in the surrounding districts, with an interest in art, might be prepared to give their time and talents to this worthwhile project.
Anyone interested in assisting with next year’s Art Show can phone Tina Merriman on 0402 233503.
