Daryl Armour was elected President replacing the outgoing Gerard Dunn who thought it was time for change. Gerard has done a great job in his time at the helm. Michael Edwards was returned as Vice-President and Stewart Blomfield remains Treasurer.
Ten people stood for Committee, with the ballot bringing a few changes. Successful candidates were Gerard Dunn, Samantha Pye, Julie Dunn, Kim Blomfield and Alan Banks.
Two long serving Committee members missed out. Yvonne Murphy and Ray Turner have given many years of valuable service to the Club, a fact that is very much appreciated.
In the reports presented to the meeting, a positive vibe was generated. Daryl and his board have the responsibility to keep this positive vibe going. Their job will be made easier if the members utilize all the facilities offered and support the functions and shows put on.

I saw Michael McCormack among a group of suits talking about ridding rural roads of the horrendous smashes we see almost weekly.
The state of many, or most, of our roads would be a good place to start. Widen them and upgrade the surfaces. Target speeding both subversively and through increased police presence generally. Big job, with no guarantees … it really comes down to each individual driver.

Two good reasons to go for a drive in the beautiful country beyond Frogmore.
Try taking in the magnificent garden at ‘Old Graham’, 3021 Frogmore Road. This garden will be open 10.00am to 4.30pm Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28. Not just a garden, a sculpture walk to also enjoy. Lunch and teas also available. This garden is suitable for prams/pushers and wheelchairs.
A week later take in all the thrills, spills and fun of the Reids Flat Gymkhana and Rodeo. Gates open 8.30 am Saturday November 3 with something for all in the family all day plus a dance at night. Go out through Frogmore and back via Taylor’s Flat Road. A great drive. A great day, one you’ll enjoy.

Only eight days until the hordes descend on the Showground for the Annual Touch/Netball Carnival. All happening Friday October 26.
Work at the Showground has been full tilt to enable the Carnival to go ahead, with the infrastructure on target.
Much work has to be done to have the courts, fields, grounds in general ready to cater for the thousands of kids attending. Volunteers come out of the woodwork to help get the grounds ready and Carnival run smoothly. If you’ve volunteered in the past, or have never volunteered, let either school know you’re available. St Joseph’s 6385 3263, Boorowa Central 6385 3009.
It has amazed me the number of people involved in the preparation and running of the Carnival. Boorowa has the ability to put on big events thanks to the big hearts of our volunteers.

Some friends refer to me as ‘The Paparazzi’. I thought ‘Nice”, until I found out paparazzi is Italian for ‘buzzing mosquito’.
This has left me utterly confused. Referring to me as ‘The Paparazzi’, are they being complimentary, sarcastic, amiable, condescending, kind, sympathetic, or what? A pest? Truly!
I think I’ll just pretend I don’t know what paparazzi means. Who said, “Life wasn’t meant to be easy”?
