General Manager Dr Marks moved from the warmth of Queensland to pursue her new endeavor within the Hilltops region.
With five previous years experience as general manager in Queensland and the Northern Territory, Edwina is looking forward to working with councillors to progress the newly amalgamated Hilltops council.
Edwina got her first taste of working in local government in 2007 whilst she was living in a small country town.
“I took up a job in the office in local government and that’s where it started and prior to that I had positions in finance and commercial real estate,” Edwina said.
“So I’d just fallen into a basic administration roll, but when I got there I realised the potential of local government and what you can do in local government.
“There’s such a broad range of roles and it’s working anywhere and everywhere across that community and that’s what I have always loved about local government.”
Dr Marks has a Ph.D. in Fine Art from the University of Newcastle NSW and a Masters of Business from Charles Sturt University.
Edwina has continued her professional development throughout her career. Acting General Manager David Aber was farewelled last Thursday, September 13.
