Mrs Christina Booth, a prominent picture book author and editor, spent time with each class group; sharing her knowledge, skills, strategies and passion for reading, writing and illustrating.
Christina has written books such as The Anzac Tree, Kip, Welcome Home and Too Many Sheep and also illustrated books such as The Gum Family Finds Home, Blossom Possum and This is Captain Cook and This is Banjo Patterson.
Throughout the day she shared her work, read her stories, wrote stories and drew pictures from her stories.
She left the school with two beautiful (and signed) illustrations of Kip the Rooster and a sheep from Too Many Sheep which will hang very proudly in the school’s library.
Christina also gifted the school with a jar of water from Tasmania for the school’s Prayer Space, in hope of bringing rain to our region!
The school would like to thank Mrs Anne Corcoran for organising this very special event and its community council for its financial support in providing this opportunity for the students and teachers.
A big thank you to the many parents who also came along to meet and greet Christina and share this special day with the students.
