Their family, friends and peers also joined them.
The adjudicators for the day were Marg Roles, Rita O’Connor and Justin Fleming.
The speakers, representing each of the schools came from across Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
The topics for the day were:
Year 3 – How can I make a Difference?
Year 4 – It was Worth It.
Year 5 – Every family has a Story to Tell.
Year 6 – Today’s Problems, Tomorrow’s Solutions.
Each of the speakers presented a very unique speech about their topic and the adjudicators had some very tough decisions to make in choosing the runner up and champion for each grade level.
Mrs Rita O’Connor commented on her delight with the incredible level and sophistication of the presentations, even to better many she has heard in her time as a high school teacher.
Congratulations to all the speakers on the day and well done to Archie Coble, Delilah Cross and Ella Cross on being runners up in their grade level.
Congratulations to Alice Dymock, Mylee Taylor, Lucy Bowman and Majella McGrath on being chosen as champions for their respective grade level.
Alice, Mylee, Lucy and Majella have now travelled to West Wyalong on Wednesday, August 22 to participate in the Western Region Public Speaking Championships.
The St. Joseph’s School community are very grateful for, and would like to thank Marg, Rita and Justin for their time and efforts in being this year’s adjudicators.
A difficult but marvellous job.
