If I start knocking politicians and government systems you’ll probably say, “Here he goes again.” This may be so, but I’ve discovered some very interesting numbers. When it comes to trusting a government the general global population trust figure is 43% … in Australia a mere 35%. Last week I mentioned governments should listen to the people and enact policies responding to the needs of the people and providing for their best interests. If a government can only muster 35% on the trust barometer, it’s failing, and I add, miserably. Governments at all levels, consider, even 50% is barely a pass. The ball is in their court. The challenge is to heed the people and act as is expected.

Another thing we have talked about is political correctness, gender neutrality, bans pandering to the whims of the minority. People are beginning to say enough is enough. Not just ordinary people, but powerful people from many walks of life.Australia is losing its ‘lay back’ image, the Aussie larrikin is disappearing, we are losing our indomitable spirit.
Many acknowledge Australia as the best country in the world. That concept could easily disappear. People of all persuasions are coming forward saying political correctness has gone too far. All us fair dinkum Aussies should join them and say, “Enough is enough!”

Sally from Paddington NSW decided to take one of the jobs most Australians are not willing to do, applying for a job in a lemon grove, despite appearing to be over qualified. She has a liberal arts degree from Adelaide University, has worked as a social worker and a school teacher. The foreman frowned and said, “I have to ask you, have you had any actual experience in picking lemons?”
“Well as a matter of fact, I have.” she said, “I’ve been divorced three times, owned two jeeps, voted twice for labor, and once for Clive Palmer.” Sally got the job.

Congratulations to all the organisers behind the very successful ‘A Day for the Blokes’. About 160 men enjoyed this wonderful night with many hoping it will happen again, annually being suggested.
The speakers Dr Sanjay Bhargava, Peter Wilkins, Gretel Killeen, Rick Power, Senator Jim Molan, John ‘Stinker’ Clarke, and MC extraordinaire Richie Fleming, amused, enthralled and informed the mob, always with a touch of humour, but also with a special message. Each in their own way talked of the highs and lows of life. We all experience lows and the message coming through was talk and mingle. Family, friends, workmates, etc are our support team. Don’t isolate yourself – you’re not alone.

Rick Power had a humorous piece concerning vocalization and interpretation between men and women. He didn’t mention this one: Every woman’s dream. Her ideal man takes her in his arms, throws her on the bed … and cleans he house while she sleeps.
