Concerns have been raised about how funding is being allocated towards upgrades at the Boorowa Showground after a financial update was presented to Hilltops Council.

At the last monthly meeting of council, Councillor Wendy Tuckerman asked Acting Director of Infrastructure, Ken Fox, why Council should be seeking further funding rather than better utilising the funds already allocated to the Showground.

“I have to know where most of the money has been allocated and why we can’t juggle that money to be able to complete the building without having to get more money,” Cr Tuckerman said.

Cr Tuckerman also believed that the projected cost of $640,000 to the Pony Club arena was “absolutely ridiculous”.

“There is a little bit of work to be done and more information to be supplied to Council,” she said.

A motion was passed to defer any decisions to a later meeting.
