The season is coming to an end pretty soon and unfortunately, it looks like the Goldies won’t make the finals. Well, they could technically if a few teams dropped off the face of the earth but that is highly unlikely. However, it didn’t stop the boys travelling to Yass last Saturday and having a red hot go.

With a near full strength team, the confidence was high and wanting to right the wrongs from the game against Batemans Bay they were keen to get back on the paddock. The first half was back and forward and the Goldies played some of their best footy all year. Combinations really gelling and a huge effort from all.
Ultimately, in the end, the Goldies lost 29-22 but there were some stand out performances. Most notably from Ryan Spray Goggles Simpson make some great yardage up the middle. Up front the forwards did what they had to do and in the backs, the backs did what they had to do.
Chris Grant made the trip from Orange to lace up the boots again. He slotted into the fullback position for all of the second half. He had a monster of a half. The Rams put 47 high balls up for him to deal with and deal with them is what he did.
Not one ball was dropped. He ran from behind his own posts, sidestepping most of the team and looked certain to score a try but sadly knocked on the ball over the line. Hard luck mate.
It was also good to have Club President Justin Fleming back in the gold jersey after a week off. He went to Russia to the World Cup Final where he caught up with the Russian President and Donald Trump in an Aussie Pub in Moscow. Flemo reckons that Trumpy is a great man, loves his Bundy Rum and can do a killer fruit bat.
By now you have probably realised that I haven’t a clue what I am writing about and you would be right. I wasn’t at the game. Literally, all I know is the final score which I saw on Facebook and who got the points and the coach texts me those details.
Anyway, the points: 3 points: Greeny; 2 points: Friendy; 1 point: Marty. Players' Player went to Will McGuiness. Chicks' Pick went to Dane Rowley's favourite real estate agent in Boorowa, Jack Ryan.
