The photos belong to Peter and Elizabeth Mason, who have kindly loaned them to the reunion organising committee to publicise the 60th Anniversary luncheon gathering at the Boorowa Ex-Services Club on Saturday, October 27.

Canemumbola Capers of 1961 was the fifth production staged by the company and the show, a variety revue, was produced by Sylvia Gregory and Kevin Mahoney.

It was a packed programme, with a selection from musical comedies, a ventriloquist (Rex Gorham), a play in one act (The Bridegroom Rose Early), an operatic tragedy, (Antonio), a selection of sea shanties (Nautical Nineties), a farce in one act (Woman Alive) and selections from the previous four productions.

A special guest artist was advertised as ‘Tom Thumb, the Smallest Man in the World.’

This individual, who recited amusing verse concerning local personalities, was played by Bert Lawler, with the assistance of daughter Margaret.

The fact that the community was then raising funds to establish an up to date swimming pool for the benefit of local residents did not go unnoticed.

The committee organising the anniversary luncheon on October 27 is seeking information (email or postal addresses) on anyone who took part in Boorowa M&D productions in any capacity over the 60 years since its inception.

This is to allow invitations, containing all relevant information, to be sent to as many people as possible.

It is hoped to open bookings for the anniversary luncheon, and afternoon tea, on October 1, and hold them open until October 17.
