It was the Dynamic Duo of Richard Hall and Redean Hignett who won the title defeating darts stalwart Steve Makins and his partner in crime Lyn in a close run final.
Darts odd couple Richard and Redean have been consistently good players in the local competition for a number seasons and together on Thursday night they were unstoppable.
Congratulations to Redean and Richard and all who competed in the first competition of mixed doubles.
We hope you’re all back for the next one.
Just as important, was that the night raised $380 towards our great facility of Burrowa House, which was the chosen charity for the evening.
Given that some of the players are of a certain age group, it’s probably appropriate that some will benefit from this Charity sooner rather than later.
Many thanks to the Ex-Services club hosting the tournament and chef Richard for providing an excellent supper as well to feed the hungry masses.
There is no doubt this event will become a regular feature on the ever expanding local Darts calendar.
This Thursday will see all teams have a week off during the school holidays before the regular competition resumes on Thursday, July 26.
Check your local venues for the draw and stay tuned to this column next week for all your darts news. See you at the boards.
