Daryl Murphy wins Club Singles in bowls

The final of the Boorowa Ex Services Bowls Club Singles was played last Saturday.

Daryl Murphy played Glen Klose, and after a three hour battle Daryl prevailed 31-26.

The match was even from the opening roll with no player ever having a big break. Glen is playing very consistent bowls having been runner up in the final in 2017.

The final of the minor pairs was also played on Saturday when Neville and Greg Thurtell played John Piper and John Dymock.

The Thurtells proved too consistent eventually running out winners 29-15. This game was a great learning experience for John Piper having only started playing bowls four week ago.

The weather intervened at last Thursday’s social bowls with only a casual rollup being played by six dedicated bowlers.

Social bowls are on again Thursday at 12.30pm.
