Can Assist Young and Boorowa is turning 30 this year and to celebrate are inviting the public to join them for a big birthday lunch.

“The local branch has given over one million dollars in assistance to local cancer patients and their families in the Young and Boorowa region during the past 30 years,” Can Assist Young and Boorowa’s Gail Hannigan said.
The lunch is on Sunday, July 22 at 12.30pm and will be held at the Young Services Club.
“Guest speaker during the event will be local radio personality Neil Langford,” Ms Hannigan said.
Jeanette Sherwood will also be speaking at the lunch and will give guests an insight into how the Young and Boorowa Can Assist branch came to be formed.
Tickets are $25 each and are available at Young Services Club however no tickets will be available at the door.
“Join us to mark this significant milestone of community support for our local Can Assist branch,” Ms Hannigan said.
Young and Boorowa Can Assist hold an annual choir concert – Songs of Hope – at St Patrick’s Church in Boorowa and a number of other activities throughout the year to raise money to help local cancer sufferers and their families.
This organisation plays a significant role in supporting people undergoing treatment for cancer by providing funds to cover accommodation, travelling and other associated costs.
