The Boorowa Rovers mid season form slump continued last Saturday when they suffered a two point loss against a determined Binalong outfit in testing conditions for both players and supporters.

Sponsors’ Day saw a reasonable crowd in attendance despite the arctic like weather.
The day saw the new field officially used by both junior and senior players and considering the wet weather, the field came through with flying colours.
The hard work done by the council and everyone else involved has paid dividends and the field will be a great asset for years to come.
On a day where points were tough to come by, Binalong drew first blood through a penalty goal after four minutes realising that any lead was a good lead.
Binalong led 2-0 for the majority of the first half before Boorowa hooker Trent Garrett crossed for a converted try to give the Rovers a 6-2 lead.
Then on the stroke of halftime Binalong crashed over for a converted try to steal an 8-6 lead at the interval.
Binalong extended their lead to 14-6 through a runaway try after just two minutes of the second stanza.
Whilst Boorowa had a huge amount possession in the Binalong half, they made to many handling errors at crucial stages coughing up far to much ball.
Boorowa struck back with tries to Steven Death and Jack Thom as the Rovers appeared to be getting on top 16-14.
With just over a minute left, Binalong produced a well weighted kick into the corner that was scooped up by the attack to score and take the lead 18-16.
Binalong deserved their two point win which keeps them in the semi final race at least for another week.
For the locals, it could be a costly loss come semi final time as they chase a top three spot and the double chance.
In other George Tooke games, Gunning 22 beat ADFA 12, Crookwell 44 defeated UCGrizzlies 16 and North Canberra 48 hammered Bungendore 0. Harden had the bye.
Meanwhile the Roverettes scored a vital 24-14 over Binalong to keep themselves entrenched in fourth spot. The girls had the worst of the conditions all day but handled the driving rain quiet well.
After holding a slender 6-4 lead at halftime, the Roverettes pulled away in the second half to run out convincing winners by 24-14.
Boorowa opened the scoring after eight minutes through a darting run by Molly Stephens which was converted by Peyton Power.
Binalong hit back shortly before the break to make it 6-4.
In the second half, the Roverettes asserted their class, with tries to Mackella Pye, Rachel Corkery and Amanda Noakes taking Boorowa to a winning position at 20-4.
Binalong never gave up adding two tries of their own but another four pointer by Mackella Pye saw the final score 24-14 in favour of the locals.
In other league tag games, Gunning 50 beat ADFA 0, Crookwell 20 beat UC Grizzlies 8 and Bungendore 22 beat North Canberra 6.
In the Youth league Tuggeranong were no match for the rampaging Harden/Boorowa team with the locals winning by 60-0.
The locals looked good leading by 32-0 at halftime and showed little mercy on the Canberra side.
In the other Youth league match, Yass 28 beat Crookwell 4.
This weekend sees the Rovers and Roverettes travel to Kippax for a Thursday night game at West Belconnen leagues Club against the UC Grizzlies.
It’s a crucial game for the Rovers who need to win to maintain contact with the top three.
The Roverettes kick off at 6.20pm followed by the Rovers game at 7.30pm.
In other matches for both George Tooke and League Tag, Gunning host Crookwell, North Canberra entertain Binalong and ADFA play Harden. Bungendore have the bye.
The Youth league side will have a bye this weekend.
