The Rowley family will host their first open day on Monday, June 18, as part of the 2018 Sheep Week.
"It's a great opportunity to let lamb producers come and inspect not just our sale rams but our breeding ewes and stud sires,” Dane Rowley from Springwaters Stud said.
“We always welcome private inspections through the year but the open day format allows people to drop in without the need to make an appointment.
“Also, without the distraction of a sale or show, it creates a casual environment to look at some sheep, and have a chat about our breeding program.”
On display will be approximately 80 of the 2018 on property sale rams, made up of both the stud sire group and 60 of the commercial flock rams.
A selection of this year’s April/May drop lambs on their mothers will also be available to view, offering a snap shot of the direction of the breeding program.
Visitors should pay particular attention to the first generation of lambs sired by Springwaters’ "Pocock" 66-16.
Pocock was the Supreme Champion at both Sydney Royal and the NSW Dorset Championships in 2017.
Pocock won the champion ram lamb at the Australasian Championships, Bendigo, in 2016 as a five month-old.
He was highly regarded for his heavy muscling and early maturity and his lambs are following suit.
The Rowley family would welcome both current customers and any producers involved in the prime lamb industry.
"The lamb industry has a really optimistic outlook, we hope this open day will provide our clients with an opportunity to have a look at the next group of rams we have available,” Dane said.
“It also offers producers who haven't bought our rams before a chance to inspect our sheep, and have a look at what we have to offer.”
The rams on display will be available for sale at the on-property auction held September 28, 2018.
The open day will be held on farm at the "Corcorans Plains" shearing shed between 9am and 4pm on Monday, June 18.
Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.
