Last Sunday the Boorowa Rovers endured one of the toughest road trips of the season travelling to Crookwell to take on the Green Devils.
It didn’t end well for the Rovers as The Devils applied the blow torch to the visitors beating the Rovers by 56-6.
Crookwell had shut the Rovers down by halftime leading 28-0 as the Joe and Ben Picker stamped their class on the game.
Crookwell controlled the usually dominate Rovers forwards and points were extremely hard to come by.
The only try for Boorowa was scored by Andrew Burns who converted his own try.
Best for the Rovers was Jack Thom who picked up three points, Alex Stewart got the two points and Chris Mason got the one point.
In the League Tag, the Crookwell She-Devils were too strong winning by 32-10 after leading 16-0 at halftime.
Danielle Gilbert was the best for Boorowa picking up three points, Jessie Abnett was again strong in getting two points whilst Mikaela Hurry got one point.
Unfortunately for the Roverettes, they may be without their wing sensation Jess Hoare for a week or two after Jess got first use of the showers being sent off late in the game.
The other match of the day between youth league teams Crookwell and Boorowa/Harden was again the best match with Crookwell prevailing 28-26 in a thriller.
This week will see a general bye for the long weekend.
It’s the perfect opportunity for all teams to rest up and recover from those niggling early season injuries as they head into the second half of the season.
All three local teams are at the Showground on June 10 for round ten fixtures.
The Youth league will take on Tuggeranong followed by the Roverettes and Rovers against old foes Binalong.
