Boorowa’s Michael Hinds recently attended his graduation ceremony at the Canberra Institute of Technology where his achievements lead to him being chosen to deliver the Vote of Thanks speech on behalf of the graduates to those gathered at the ceremony.

Michael was awarded The University of Canberra Prize, which recognises the most outstanding result in a program which articulates to the University of Canberra.
Michael consistently achieved excellent results in both his Diploma of Building and Construction qualifications (Building and Management), all while doing a certificate III in Carpentry, working fulltime, and commuting to Canberra to study.
His teachers commented in his citation that: “Michael is a quiet high achiever, whose work ethic and willingness to help others in doing the more difficult or complex work was very highly regarded by all his teachers. As an active participant in the site visits under taken for his Diploma, both industry representatives and teachers highly commended him on his understanding and engagement. He has a positive attitude and enquiring mind with a keen interest in the changes in technology and construction methodologies and their impact on the construction industry”.
For his achievements Design and Technology Department, Michael was also awarded a CIT Medal for his achievements in his apprenticeship studies and as well the inaugural Shane Dealy Building and Construction Award for the most outstanding graduating student.
Michael is currently working with his father David Hinds in his families construction business in Boorowa. .
